The Southern Police District (SPD) reported on Monday a generally peaceful observance of All Saints’ and All Souls Day across the Southern Metro Manila.
According to SPD, there were no major untoward incidents within the cities Makati, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Taguig, and Muntinlupa.
Under the district’s security plan during the observance, personnel were deployed in cemeteries, transport terminals, malls, and major access routes to assist commuters and ensure traffic flow.
A total of 52 individuals had been arrested and confiscated prohibited items including eight bladed weapons, five bottles of liquor, and more than 1,600 items such as lighters and perfumes.
Authorities attributed the orderly observance to public cooperation and tighter security measures.
