In a historic move, the local government of Makati City took its annual Thanksgiving Family Day Celebration outside the City Hall quadrangle for the first time, treating 400 families to a day at the Enchanted Kingdom theme park.
Mayor Nancy Binay organized the extraordinary outing, aiming to give beneficiaries a truly special experience. A convoy of 35 buses transported the families and staff from Makati City Hall to the theme park in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and back.
The city covered all expenses, including transportation, full meals, and snacks. Each family also received P1,000 in “Wizard Money” for use inside the park.
The beneficiaries included members of the 4Ps program, daycare students, solo parents, persons with disabilities, and clients of the City Social Welfare and Development.
Several city councilors, including Mayeth Casal-Uy, Bernadette Sese, Arlene Ortega, Ferdie Eusebio, Levy Ramboyong, King Yabut, Ina Sarosa, Maribel Vitales, and Joel Ariones, joined the festivities.
Enchanted Kingdom president and CEO Cesar Mario O. Mamon and his wife, Cynthia Mamon, expressed their delight at hosting Makati’s first Family Thanksgiving Day celebration at the park.
