ILIGAN CITY — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 10 has completed a major phase of the Agus Parallel Bridge Project in Barangay Buruun, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte.

The project, which involved widening a permanent bridge along the Overton–Buru-un Boundary Road, is part of the government’s infrastructure initiative to improve connectivity and safer transport for the city and surrounding areas.

The contract, with a final cost of P95.7 million, was carried out by the Cavite Ideal International Construction and Development Corporation. Construction began on 29 April 2021 and was finished on 14 November 2022.

The completed bridge section is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and provide more efficient access for motorists and commuters in Iligan City.

This work is one of four contracts being implemented by DPWH Regional Office 10 for the overall Agus Parallel Bridge Project, which includes three phases of bridge widening and one phase of retrofitting and strengthening.

Officials said the project underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development aimed at boosting regional growth and resilience in Northern Mindanao.
