The League of Municipalities of the Philippines–Tarlac Chapter has signed Resolution No. 4, Series of 2025, signifying its unanimous and unwavering support for Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap in her fight against the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) disqualification order.
Approved and adopted on 24 October 2025, the resolution affirms the league’s backing of Yap following the Comelec decision, recognizing her as the duly elected local chief executive of Tarlac City and honoring the clear mandate given to her by the people.
The resolution also urged the Comelec en banc to reconsider its ruling and to “give primacy to the sovereign will of the people of Tarlac City,” stressing that their votes must be “respected, protected, and honored.”
The league further appealed to all public officials and citizens of Tarlac to trust in the integrity of the judicial system and allow due process to deliver a just and final resolution.
Mayor Yap thanked the league for its declaration of support, saying it reflects the voice of the people she serves.
“I am even more inspired and determined to continue our shared commitment to deliver good governance and compassionate public service to our beloved Tarlaqueños, knowing that I have your full support. Maraming salamat po!” she said.
