Dear X, starring Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Young Dae, which made its first appearance at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival, is set to stream exclusively on HBO Max starting 6 November.
This 12-episode romance thriller from TVING is adapted from the acclaimed, award-winning NAVER Webtoon of the same name by Van Zi-un.
Dear X follows Baek Ah Jin (Kim Yoo Jung), a celebrated actress who conceals a dark past marked by trauma. Through cunning manipulation and deceit, she ascends to stardom, protected and supported at all costs by Yoon Jun Seo (Kim Young Dae), her devoted lover.
The series has generated major buzz since its announcement, featuring a powerhouse cast including Kim Yoo Jung (My Demon, Love in the Moonlight), Kim Young Dae (No Gain No Love, The Penthouse: War in Life), Kim Do Hoon (Love Scout, Your Honor), and Lee Yul Eum (The 8 Show, Queen: Love and War).
Dear X is helmed by legendary director Lee Eung Bok (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Descendants of the Sun) alongside Park So Hyeon, developed by Studio Dragon, produced by Monster Union and Siwoo Company, and written by Choi Ja-won and Van Zi-un.
As part of the recently announced multi-year partnership between CJ ENM and Warner Bros. Discovery, Dear X marks the first exclusive original K-drama series to premiere on HBO Max across the Asia Pacific region.
Looking ahead to 2026, a TVING-branded hub will debut on HBO Max in 17 markets — including Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong — offering fans access to TVING’s newest K-drama releases and hundreds of hours of premium content from CJ ENM and TVING’s libraries.
