A renewable-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging station is set to rise at the Total station along South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Northbound in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, to accelerate the adoption of cleaner transport solutions nationwide. 

Basic Energy Renewable Corp. (BERC), led by businessman Ramon Villavicencio, has tapped ACMobility, the mobility arm of the Ayala Group, to pilot the co-branded site, which will serve as a model for future installations.

“This partnership with ACMobility signifies Basic Energy’s strong commitment to advancing clean energy and sustainable transport,” Basic Energy Corp. CEO Oscar L. de Venecia, Jr. said. 

“Together, we aim to make EV charging more accessible, convenient, and powered by renewable energy—enabling Filipino motorists to take part in the journey toward a greener future,” he added.

Under the collaboration, ACMobility will co-develop and manage charging hubs at select Total-branded retail stations and other BERC-developed sites. 

All future stations will connect to ACMobility’s Evro app, enabling users to locate, monitor, and pay for charging sessions.

“This partnership reflects our shared vision of a future where EV charging is not just available, but reliable, seamless, and powered by clean energy,” ACMobility Head of Mobility Infrastructure Carla Buencamino said.

“By combining forces with Basic Energy, we’re accelerating the rollout of a charging network that supports the real needs of Filipino EV drivers, which will be made visible through our Evro app.”

The initiative complements Basic Energy’s Green Energy E-Transport Program, launched in November 2023, and aligns with the company’s renewable energy roadmap, which encompasses solar, wind, geothermal, and energy storage projects.

ACMobility, which currently operates over 100 charging locations with 70 more underway, aims to reach 700 charge points nationwide by the end of the year. Its network connects major routes from Pagudpud in the north to Pagadian in the south.
