Federal Land opens first tower of The Grand Midori Ortigas in Pasig

A new symbol of harmony and balance now rises in the heart of Ortigas Center as Federal Land Inc. officially inaugurates the first tower of The Grand Midori Ortigas (TGMO)—a landmark development that brings to life the essence of Zen living amid the vibrant energy of Pasig City.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Federal Land Vice Chairman Thomas Mirasol, Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo, Mayor Vico Sotto, Federal Land Chairman Alfred Ty, Metrobank Foundation Board Member Aniceto Sobrepeña, and Federal Land President Jose Mari Banzon. The event marked the completion of Tower 1 and the start of a new chapter for its first residents.

“For over 53 years, Federal Land has dedicated itself to creating projects that contribute to nation-building through thoughtful, future-forward designs that add value to the community and enable people to lead balanced, fulfilling lives,” said Alfred Ty, Chairman of Federal Land. “As Federal Land’s first foray in Pasig City, The Grand Midori Ortigas was envisioned as a modern Zen-inspired sanctuary in the heart of Ortigas Center. It is a welcoming retreat that brings balance, serenity, and harmony to city living. Today, that promise stands tall before us.”

A vision of Zen in the city

Designed in collaboration with Tange Associates, the Tokyo-based architectural firm founded by Pritzker Laureate Kenzo Tange, The Grand Midori Ortigas reflects timeless Japanese design and craftsmanship. The two-tower development integrates traditional Japanese artistry with modern sensibilities—mirroring Tange Associates’ design philosophy of “comfort personalized for its clients and users.”

“When we work on design, we consider how to incorporate the individual style and personality into the architecture. Of course, we prioritize the comfort of the people who will use the space in all our architecture, whether residential or commercial,” said Paul Tange, Chairman of Tange Associates.

The development embodies the Japanese principles of wabi-sabi (beauty in imperfection) and miyabi (elegance in simplicity). Its weave façade draws inspiration from both the Japanese tatami and Filipino banig, with horizontal and vertical louvers that serve as natural sunshades and ventilation features.

Inside, residents are greeted by a Zen-inspired lobby bathed in natural light, with high ceilings and minimalist architectural details that exude calm and balance.

A serene sanctuary ready for residents

Now ready for occupancy, Tower 1 offers thoughtfully designed spaces that nurture mindfulness and well-being. Units range from studio (35.5–38 sqm), one-bedroom (46–64 sqm), two-bedroom (70–107 sqm), to three-bedroom (105–109 sqm) configurations. Each unit features light, airy interiors framed by expansive windows.

Tower 2 will introduce a unique 64-sqm One-Bedroom Flex Suite with an additional 30-sqm multi-purpose area, which can be customized into a nursery, home office, studio, or fitness space—an adaptable design suited for evolving lifestyles.

Amenities in Tower 1 include a fitness gym, function rooms, lap pool, Jacuzzi, and a landscaped Zen garden, offering spaces for both relaxation and social connection.

A prime address for balance and accessibility

Located along Exchange Road in Ortigas Center, The Grand Midori Ortigas provides easy access to major business districts such as Makati and Bonifacio Global City via the BGC–Ortigas Link Bridge, Metro Manila Subway, and the Ortigas Greenway Project. Its central location puts residents within reach of top schools, shopping malls, corporate offices, and hospitals.

“The Grand Midori Ortigas is our vision of what city living can be: elegant and calming, but still right in step with the vibrant lifestyle of Ortigas Center,” said Jose Mari Banzon, President of Federal Land. “It’s a home that lets you enjoy the energy of the CBD while giving a calming Zen retreat to come home to.”

As Tower 1 opens its doors to residents and Tower 2 nears completion, The Grand Midori Ortigas reaffirms Federal Land’s commitment to creating spaces that blend convenience, creativity, and calm—where life moves at a more mindful pace.
