I join the entire nation in welcoming and supporting investigations into ghost projects and flood control infrastructures. We must hold accountable all those responsible for this mess that continues to plague our country. The Filipino people are waiting for the real masterminds to be unmasked and punished.
As your senator, I stand firmly with every Filipino in this crusade against corruption. I call on all government investigators to pursue nothing but the truth. I urge witnesses to speak out and reveal the whole truth. A clear conscience has nothing to fear. Those who are not involved should not be afraid — only those with something to hide.
Throughout my life, and especially as a public servant, I have always observed delicadeza. I have safeguarded my moral integrity to protect my name and the trust given to me by the people. I will never waste that trust. I stand for accountability. The Filipino people will not allow themselves to be misled or confused by anyone who seeks to bury the truth.
Now, more than ever, we must stand united against corruption. Our people deserve and demand that this flood control controversy end with the truth, so that government workers can return to their mandate of genuine service.
Meanwhile, as an adopted son of Maragondon, Cavite, I personally coordinated with Mayor Lawrence Arca and the local government to provide financial assistance to 2,930 senior high school and college students.
The previous week, our Malasakit Team tirelessly reached out to grassroots communities, extending immediate aid to fire victims in Malate, Manila City. We also assisted recovering fire victims in Bacoor City, Cavite and Caloocan City who likewise received support from the national government to rebuild their lives.
Amid the strong earthquakes that continue to strike parts of the Philippines, our Malasakit Team went to several towns in Davao Oriental to provide assistance to affected families, with Board Member Don Montojo and Lupon Vice Mayor Atty. Christian Lawrence “Chrence” Go. We turned over assistance to the following towns: Banaybanay, Lupon, San Isidro, Governor Generoso, Mati City, Cateel, Boston, Caraga and Baganga.

In Cebu City, indigent solo parents received additional support, while TESDA graduates of Empower U Edu Inc. in Toledo City, Cebu and in Palawan were also assisted.
As a public servant, I wish nothing but the betterment of our country and justice for the Filipino people. I will continue to cooperate in any investigation and will never tire of serving my kababayans — dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo.
