Globe brought together more than 1,000 developers, engineers, and innovators for the third Globe Developers Conference (DevCon 2025), a full-day celebration of technology, creativity, and collaboration held on October 9 at The Globe Tower.
Building on the success of its previous runs, DevCon 2025 spotlighted the potential of AI-powered innovation and collaboration to uplift lives, uniting participants from Globe’s tech and business communities, partner companies, and academic institutions.
“Developers are the builders of the future,” said Globe Chief Information Officer Raul Macatangay. “Through DevCon, we create an environment where talent, technology, and purpose converge. We want our people and partners to see that innovation doesn’t just happen in labs, it happens when we come together to solve real problems for real people.”
Now in its third year, DevCon has evolved from a focused internal showcase into a collaborative movement across the local tech ecosystem. This year’s theme, “Harnessing the Power to Create,” underscored the role of human creativity in driving intelligent, AI-powered solutions that improve lives.
Organized by Globe’s Information Services Group (ISG), the event featured solution showcases, fireside chats, and tech demos highlighting innovations from Globe and its portfolio companies, including Asticom, Brave Connective, and Yondu. These reflect Globe’s broader mission of becoming a digital platform that empowers Filipinos in an increasingly tech-driven future.
Among the highlights was the recognition of Neil Daryl Sulit, one of only three Kubestronauts in the Philippines and the only one from Globe. Kubestronauts are professionals who have completed all Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Kubernetes certifications, demonstrating expertise in administration, development, security, and cloud-native foundations.
For Globe, Sulit’s achievement underscores the company’s growing global-caliber engineering talent capable of managing complex cloud-native systems that power industry giants like Google, AWS, and Netflix.
From cloud computing and AI integration to cybersecurity, DevCon 2025 provided an open platform for collaboration and mentorship—where developers are empowered to turn bold ideas into real-world solutions.
“We see DevCon not just as a conference, but as a launchpad for possibility,” Macatangay said. “By creating opportunities for developers to experiment, collaborate, and innovate responsibly, Globe continues to evolve as a technology company—one that builds with purpose.”
