What do Filipinos enjoy most after a good run? Food, of course. It’s part of who we are, celebrating with good food, great company, and moments shared with family. This weekend, Chowking brings that spirit to life as it marks its 40th year with the first-ever Chow Fun Run 2025 happening on 11 October 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex.
Held in partnership with Hyvesports, the event gathers Chowking executives, ambassadors, media, and the running community for a milestone celebration that blends movement, flavor and fun.
During the media launch, Chowking vice president Jia Du hinted at what runners can look forward to at Chow Fun Land, the lively post-race festival where surprises, entertainment, and signature dishes await. When asked if there are other Chowking favorites that might return this year, she confirmed the possibility following the success of their braised beef dish’s comeback.
Du shared that the Chow Fun Run represents Chowking’s 40-year journey of progress and shared memories. “It’s all about moving forward together and celebrating every step of the way,” she said.
While Justine Em-Cordero of Hyvesports added that this run stands out because it focuses on fun and connection rather than competition. Participants can join categories from the 1K Kiddie Run to 10K, or take part virtually wherever they are.
Each runner will receive race kits featuring Chowking-inspired shirts, limited-edition plushies, and commemorative medals. And at the finish line, Chowking favorites like Chao Fan, Siomai, and Halo-Halo will be served, because no Filipino celebration is complete without a good meal.
Joining the festivities are Paulo Avelino, Kim Chiu, Darren Espanto, and P-pop groups BGYO and KAIA, who will add more excitement to the day.
Saturday will sure be the day of fitness, food, and family fun. With the excitement we have, the Chow Fun Run 2025 is shaping up to be the most flavorful and feel-good event of the weekend as Chowking celebrates 40 years of Sarap Mag-Chow.
