The EU Organic Dairy continues to promote healthier dairy choices as it held the third year of The Dairy Good Academy: Brunch Edition on 15 August.
The event featured engaging talks and food demonstrations from nutrition experts and culinary masters.
Olympic and elite performance nutrition coach Jeaneth Aro shared how she trains Filipino athletes, emphasizing that while busy lifestyles may lead people to rely on sports supplements, it is important to prioritize a food-first approach as the primary source of energy and nutrients. This helps prevent unnecessary consumption of additives found in supplements.
Registered nutritionist-dietitian Jo Sebastian also shared her expertise, highlighting that many people are discouraged from eating healthy because of taste preferences. As a self-confessed picky eater, she explained that healthy food must also be enjoyable—otherwise, people are less likely to sustain it in their diet.
Celebrity chefs Roland “Chef Lau” Laudico and Jac Laudico of Guevarra’s restaurant joined the event with live cooking demonstrations. They incorporated EU Organic Dairy-certified Arla cream cheese into Filipino favorites such as chicken pastel, mashed kamote (sweet potato), Ilocano poqui-poqui, and beef caldereta.
The event also underscored EU Organic Dairy’s commitment to "good food, good living, and good farming". Beyond taste and nutrition, the initiative promotes animal welfare by ensuring that cows are raised in stress-free environments through sustainable farm practices.
