A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City.
The suspect, identified as Buda, was arrested by personnel of the Ortigas Police Sub-Station 1 on Wednesday at around 12 p.m. at Jaha Compound, Barangay Bambang, Pasig City.
According to the report, a female complainant, indentified only as Ms. Angel, reported that her Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle was stolen while parked on Monday, 11 August, at around 4:45 a.m. in Barangay Pineda.
After reviewing CCTV footage and posting about her stolen motorcycle on Facebook, the complainant received a tip from a concerned citizen, stating that the motorcycle was spotted at Jaha Compound in Barangay Bambang.
The complainant immediately sought assistance from the patrolling personnel of Sub-Station 1, together with the barangay security force, proceeded to the location and coordinated with sector 3 that resulted in the arrest of the suspect upon positive identification of the stolen motorcycle.
A complaint for violation with Republic Act 10833, or the New Anti-Carnapping Law of 2016, will be filed against the suspect before the Pasig City Prosecutor's Office.
