South Korean actor Ju Ji Hoon felt the love from Filipino fans at Juniverse, his first fan meeting in the country, held on 2 August at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Ji Hoon kicked off the show with a performance of “Relieved” by Lee Juck.
“I’m so happy to meet you all tonight, and I hope we have a wonderful time together,” he said.
In “JuTube,” fans got to know the actor’s food preferences and physical fitness. He has tried halo-halo, which is similar to Korea’s bingsu, and fried pig feet (crispy pata).
“I still maintain my usual diet, but I think I eat a lot of meat. The character [for a project] I’m going through right now is asking to have this more defined body. I’m eating a lot more meat,” he said.
The actor also shared that he prefers going to the gym rather than using his phone excessively.
“TagalJihoon” had the actor speak Tagalog phrases such as “Miss na kita,” “mahal na kita” and “ang ganda mo.”
Ji Hoon took a series of selfies, ala Nick and Judy of Zootopia, with a fan onstage.
During the “Juniverse Awards” segment, fans voted for their impressions of the actor on certain topics. The majority said that when they see Ji Hoon in real life, they would feel a “system error.” About his memorable line, many voted for “shut up,” referring to his character Baek Kang Hyeok in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.
In “Thinkerverse,” Ji Hoon read messages written by fans on post-its. To the delight of the audience, he called them onstage and took selfies.
Ji Hoon proved he is the king of fan service when he went down to the audience to get even more up close and personal.
Nine fans were selected to play relay games with Ji Hoon during “Jutopia.” Apart from signed posters, winners were able to take photos and hug Ji Hoon.
In return, fans prepared a special video project that touched the
Hallyu actor.
“While watching, I realized that I’m doing my best right now, but I must do better after seeing your video,” he said.
Ji Hoon is currently filming The Remarried Empress.
“I’m so happy to be receiving energy from you guys. I’ll be using this energy to do more shoots, to do better while I’m in Korea,”
Ji Hoon ended.
He first soared to international fame as Crown Prince Lee Shin in Princess Hours. He subsequently demonstrated his profound dramatic range with acclaimed performances in The Devil, Hyena and the globally streamed Netflix phenomenon Kingdom. Beyond his successful K-dramas, he also dominated the big screen in the critically acclaimed Along With the Gods, one of South Korea’s highest-grossing films.
At the 2025 Baeksang Arts Awards, Ji Hoon was awarded Best Actor for his powerful and emotionally intense portrayal of Dr. Baek Kang Hyuk in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. He appeared in Asura: The City of Madness, Jirisan and Light Shop.
