Filipino comedian Bayani Casimiro Jr., best known as Prinsipe K or Prinsipe Kahilingan from the 1980s television sitcom Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!, has died at the age of 57.
The sad news was confirmed by his sister, Marilou Casimiro. According to her, the comedian passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday.
Born Arnulfo "Jude" Casimiro, he was the son of Bayani Casimiro Sr., an actor and vaudeville dancer famously dubbed the “Philippines’ Fred Astaire.” Casimiro Sr. also appeared in the series, portraying the father of Enteng Kabisote—the main character played by Vic Sotto.
Following his father's passing in real life, Bayani Jr. took over the role of Prinsipe K in the series, becoming Enteng’s magical ally sent by Ina Magenta. He was also seen in several film spin-offs of the series, including:
Enteng Kabisote: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko... The Legend (2004)
Enteng Kabisote 2: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko… The Legend Continues (2005)
Enteng Kabisote 3: Okay Ka, Fairy Ko: The Legend Goes On and On and On (2006)
Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote (2010)
Casimiro Jr.’s wake is being held at St. Peter’s Memorial Chapel in Sucat, Parañaque City. He will be cremated on July 30, with burial to follow at Loyola Memorial Park, Parañaque City.
His sister, Marilou, expressed her hope that the news reaches his longtime co-star and friend, Vic Sotto.
