Baste to Torre: I’ll fight — if Marcos orders drug test for all officials

Baste to Torre: I’ll fight — if Marcos orders drug test for all officials

Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte on Thursday issued a bold and candid response to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Nicolas Torre III regarding the proposed charity boxing match, questioning the timing and conditions set by Torre.

In his video message shared on his official Facebook page, Duterte set forth his own conditions for accepting Torre’s boxing match dare.

“Huwag kang mag-alala Torre kasi matagal ko na talaga gusto makabugbog ng unggoy. Kung gusto mo lang ng suntukan. Bakit kailangan po ng charity-charity (Don’t worry, Torre, because I’ve actually wanted to beat up a monkey for a long time. If you just want a fistfight, why does it have to be for charity?),” Duterte’s fiery remarks directed to Torre.

He challenged the PNP chief’s use of the ongoing flood situation in Manila as a backdrop for the event, citing it as unnecessary.

“Why do you need to use the current flood situation in Manila? If you’re really serious about this, kung gusto mo yung charity na ‘yan (if you really want that charity) and you’ve laid some conditions—let me lay my own conditions for the event,” he said.

“If you're really serious, okay? These are my conditions. Pakiusapan mo ‘yang amo mo na Presidente (Please ask your boss, the President), and let it come out of his mouth  that all elected officials should undergo a hair follicle drug test. Pag nagawa ‘yan. Papalagan ko yang charity charity mo ‘yan. Walang problema. (If that condition is met, I will support your charity event—no problem),” Duterte said.

“If it will answer the issues of our country, I can do that,” he added.
