The Pasig Elite personnel from Sub-Station 1 of the Pasig City Police Station apprehended a theft suspect during a follow-up operation amid the onslaught of Typhoon Crising on Saturday night.
Despite heavy rain and strong winds that disrupted communications and posed significant challenges to movement, the team remained resolute in their mission.
The incident occurred at around 6:45 AM at a residence along Banaag Street in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City.
An initial investigation began when a 27-year-old female victim returned home from work to find her apartment window partially open. Missing items included her company-issued laptop valued at P77,000, a pouch containing P1,000 in coins, and her passport.
Further inquiry revealed that two of the victim’s neighbors were also robbed. Stolen items included four cellular phones (Samsung A5, A32, A56, and Vivo 1610) worth P50,000, a shoulder bag with jewelry valued at P40,000, and various ATM and identification cards.
Responding officers from Sub-Station 1 conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of a 44-year-old suspect, identified as alias “Archie,” who was found in possession of the stolen shoulder bag.
CCTV footage also showed a second suspect, a 21-year-old identified as alias “John,” currently at large, entering the premises before proceeding to Archie’s residence. Authorities are pursuing efforts to locate and arrest alias John.
Alias Archie has a previous criminal record, with arrests for drug-related offenses on 8 November 2019 and 11 April 2023.
A complaint of theft will be filed against the arrested suspect through inquest proceedings before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.
