A 48-year-old man accused of abusing a grade school student sexually was arrested in Marikina City.

Police identified the suspect as alias "Joy."

Investigation showed that the incident transpired at about 10:30 p.m Tuesday, wherein the minor victim had her personal necessity inside a ladies comfort room of a gasoline station in Barangay Conception Uno, when an unknown man forcibly entered and raped her. After, the incident, the suspect gave the victim P150 and left the area.

The arrest was made while personnel of the Marikina City Police Station were conducting establishment visitation and police visibility in the area when the victim reported the incident which led to the prompt arrest of the suspect.

Similarly, the arrest was executed in coordination with the Women and Children Protection Desk of Marikina City Police Station and the victim’s guardian who took custody of the rescued victim for further investigation.

The arrested suspect was placed under the custody of Marikina City Police Station while waiting for the commitment order from the issuing court.
