DivinaLaw has officially joined the Pro Bono Institute’s (PBI) Law Firm Pro Bono Project, an esteemed global initiative dedicated to advancing access to justice through high quality pro bono legal work. Based in Washington, D.C, the Law Firm Project endeavors to institutionalize and enhance the pro bono culture among leading law firms around the world.
With this membership, DivinaLaw becomes the first and only law firm originating from the Philippines and Asia to join this elite network of international firms including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP; Latham & Watkins LLP; Baker McKenzie; and Hogan Lovells.
Since its founding, DivinaLaw has prided itself on its commitment to providing legal services for the public good. In 2022, that commitment was formalized through the establishment of Dulog Legal, the firm’s dedicated pro bono program.
Dulog Legal has conducted nine legal aid clinics to date, including two within correctional facilities to support the oft-overlooked and underserved persons deprived of liberty. Future local initiatives may now be further strengthened through access to PBI’s expert consultations, best-in-class training resources, and a network of law firms that share dedication to ensuring that no one is denied legal aid due to poverty.
This achievement marks a bold step forward in affirming DivinaLaw’s core value of innovation. As a pioneer from Asia in this space, DivinaLaw stands ready to uplift marginalized communities by learning from and contributing to the evolving conversation around global access to justice.
