Former senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III has asked the Supreme Court to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the proclamation of former Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro as the winning representative of the city’s 1st Congressional District.
In a petition dated 30 June, Pimentel challenged the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) 25 June resolution lifting the suspension of Teodoro’s proclamation.
Following the resolution, Teodoro was proclaimed representative in a ceremony held at the Marikina Public Market Function Hall.
Pimentel, who ran against Teodoro, received 29,031 votes, while Teodoro garnered 75,062.
In addition to the TRO, Pimentel also asked the high court to issue a status quo ante order.
