25 grateful years of responsible journalism

Through it all, our mission has remained clear: to inform, to engage, and to be a voice for the people.

This year, as DAILY TRIBUNE celebrates its Silver Anniversary, we proudly mark a major milestone.

For me, there are lots of reasons to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of our newspaper. For the past 25 years, we have been in history, telling the nation, every Filipino reader stories that matter.

With the theme “Maximum Overdrive at 25,” as a news organization, we not only look back to history but we are definitely powering and moving forward.

DAILY TRIBUNE’s anniversary is more than a celebration of longevity, it is a renewed commitment to fearless, relevant and professional journalism.

We proudly celebrate 25 years of delivering trusted news and serving our community.

Since DAILY TRIBUNE started, the management backed by the editorial team, the reporters, and columnists have been committed to upholding the values of accuracy, integrity and public service.

In the past quarter of a century, our pages have chronicled the events that shape the Filipino people — informing them of political issues, culture, sports, business, religion, natural disasters and everyday life.

The changing times and evolving technology do not affect our mission which has remained the same. Through it all, our mission has remained clear: to inform, to engage, and to be a voice for the people.

Each of us is exhorted to live in the truth of God. The Old Testament attests that God is the source of all truth. His Word is truth. His Law is truth. His faithfulness endures to all generations. Since God is true, His people are called to live in the truth.

Being a columnist of DAILY TRIBUNE, I noticed that the editorial management has a high regard for charity and respect for truth, that they observe the protocol concerning the good and safety of others. Yes, at DAILY TRIBUNE, respect for privacy and the common good are the basis before publishing any information. The duty to avoid scandal and maintain strict discretion is followed.

While we do not lie in giving information, reporting relevant and significant events and situations, prudence determines what can and cannot be revealed so as to protect the greater good. Again, while this caveat is part of our Catholic teaching, any reasonable person — believer or not — can see the goodness behind these guidelines.

These very principles govern us individuals who work in mass media and social communications — television, radio, press, movies, etc.

As we reflect on our journey, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our readers, contributors, and dedicated staff who have made these 25 years possible. Your support continues to drive our passion in bringing to you relevant, significant, important, and true information.

As we look ahead, we do so with gratitude to our readers, pride in our past, and passion for the future.

Let’s move forward to many more years of making headlines together.

Happy 25th Anniversary!
