Protesters slam oil hike

MEMBERS of Bayan Muna and other militant groups stage a protest at Philcoa, Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Monday to denounce the looming fuel price hike, expected to go up by as much as P5 per liter. The protesters accused oil firms of capitalizing on the escalating Middle East conflict to jack up prices, and urged the government to repeal the Oil Deregulation Law and nationalize the oil industry to shield the public from speculative price shocks.
