A 37-year-old delivery rider was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Pasig City late Tuesday night, authorities reported.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Gigi,” is a resident of Cembo, Taguig City. He was apprehended around 10:45 PM along CPL Cruz Street in Barangay Bagong Ilog by operatives conducting the anti-drug operation.
Confiscated from the suspect were 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 40 grams, with an estimated street value of P272,000. Also recovered were P1,000 in marked buy-bust money and a black pouch used to conceal the illegal drugs.
The suspect is currently detained at the Pasig City Police Station custodial facility and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the source of the illegal drugs.
