Prince William is mourning the death of his close friend and fellow polo player, billionaire businessman Sunjay Kapur, who died on Thursday, 12 June.

According to The Telegraph, Kapur collapsed mid-polo match in England after suffering anaphylactic shock from a bee sting to the mouth.

“He was full of life, laughing, joking, then gone in an instant,” a source told The Mirror, noting Kapur reportedly said he had “swallowed something” before receiving medical assistance.

Kapur, 53, was the chairman of automotive technology company Sona Comstar and a familiar face in royal polo circles, having played alongside members of the British royal family, including the Prince of Wales.

“We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of our Chairman, Mr. Sunjay Kapur,” Sona Comstar said in a statement.
