A woman wanted for estafa was arrested on Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal Leave just before she could depart the country.
The Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGROUP) identified the suspect as a 50-year-old resident of Quezon City. She was apprehended at the international departure area before boarding a flight bound to Singapore.
Personnel of the PNP-AVSEGROUP in coordination with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group served the arrest warrant after the Bureau of Immigration flagged the suspect during routine checks and was found with an outstanding warrant for estafa with bail at P22,000.
“The arrest was carried out smoothly and without resistance,” the PNP-AVSEGROUP said in a statement. AVSEGROUP director PBGen. Nicolas Torre III Abecia said fugitives attempting to leave the country should expect to be caught, regardless of their destination.
The woman is currently in the custody of CIDG at Camp Crame for documentation and legal processing.
