The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Thursday formally activated its Media Action Center (MAC) at Camp Karingal as it vowed that the entire force is fully prepared to ensure the orderly, peaceful, and honest conduct of the National and Local Elections (NLE) 2025 on 12 May.
The MAC will serve as QCPD’s central hub for real-time communication, media engagement, and public information updates.
The MAC will operate 24/7 prior to election day and will continue until post-election to provide updates, receive inquiries, issue press statements, and ensure accurate and timely information flow to the public and the media. This initiative aims to combat misinformation—particularly the spread of fake news—and to support media practitioners with verified and up-to-date election-related developments.
The QCPD likewise emphasizes its continuous coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Department of Education (DepEd), the local government, and other partner agencies to maintain peace, order, and integrity throughout the election period.
QCPD Officer-in-Charge, Deputy District Director for Administration Police Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, said the police also provided security during the transport of election paraphernalia and Automated Counting Machines (ACMs) from Laguna to Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City, and until they were delivered to the various polling centers across the city.
At present, police officers continue to guard polling centers where the said election equipment is stored and will remain on duty until election day.
Likewise, more than 4,000 police personnel will be deployed to polling precincts, strategic locations, and for anti-criminality operations throughout the city to ensure security, order, and prompt response to any incidents that may arise on election day.
QCPD continues to coordinate closely with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Department of Education (DepEd), the local government, and other concerned agencies to ensure the effective implementation of security measures for the elections.
“We call on the public to stay alert, cooperate with authorities, and report any suspicious activity or incident immediately to the nearest police station or through the QC Helpline 122. To all QCPD personnel, always be reminded to remain apolitical, refrain from any involvement in politics, and carry out your duties with integrity to ensure safe, orderly, and peaceful elections,” Silvio said.
