Senator JV Ejercito said he recently met with Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon to discuss the direction of major infrastructure projects, particularly railways and airports, ahead of upcoming budget deliberations.
In a Facebook post on Monday, 5 May, Ejercito shared photos showing what appeared to be a casual conversation over coffee with Dizon.
Describing himself as "a long-time infrastructure advocate," Ejercito said he emphasized the need to fast-track critical transport projects that connect more regions and strengthen local economies.
He cited Vietnam as a model, noting its nearly 8 percent economic growth this year, which he attributed to sustained infrastructure investments.
Ejercito also acknowledged key public demands, including a better transportation system, shorter commuting times, and more job opportunities.
“If we don't move, we risk being further left behind,” he said.
He stressed that addressing these issues is vital for the Philippines to remain competitive with its ASEAN neighbors.
