Ex-OFW gets financial help

The Department of Migrant Workers in Central Visayas (DMW-7) handed over yesterday financial assistance to a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Consolacion, Cebu.

Magily E. Soon of Barangay Tugbongon, Consolacion received P75,000 as medical assistance.

As of April 2025, DMW-7 has released financial aid worth P2,350,000 benefiting 219 OFWs or next of kins.

Norida A. Tomanto, Labor and Employment Officer 1 represented the Welfare and Reintegration Services Division, visited and personally handed over the cash assistance.

The recipient, who used to work in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, suffered from stroke.

She received medical assistance under the Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo Para SA Mga OFW na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Funds.

The AKSYON Fund is a year-round program of the Department of Migrant Workers that addresses the needs of distressed OFWs.
