Romblon will always be close to my heart. Rustic, breathtaking — it’s where time, for me, stands still. My dad’s family has roots here and i’m lucky to have really good childhood summer memories in Romblon. Now, I get to share it with my own family.
You can’t go wrong with buying and supporting the marble business of Romblon. I also love bringing home local delicacies such as sarsa, balitsaw and other produce especially when it’s lovingly prepared by my Aunt Loby Florentino.
On this recent trip, we explored Tablas and the beach spots of Calatrava. A hearty paluto or boodle when you’re on an island tour is a must. If you’re in Odiongan and craving a good almond latte or matcha, be sure to check out Sibs Coffee.

Footprints in Agpudlos has been amazing — this is our second time here, thanks to the warm and attentive owners Owen, Angie, Philip and Olivia plus the whole staff — it surely feels like home.
As of this writing, there are no direct flights to Romblon, so your best option is to take a ferry from Batangas Pier. Two ferry companies, 2Go and Montenegro, operate the route, with Montenegro offering a new vessel featuring updated cabin rooms. While Romblon is beautiful and rustic, don’t expect 5-star logistics and accommodations. If you’re up for a little adventure, I say go for it!
