The Bureau of Corrections disclosed the graduation from senior high school of 37 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the minimum and maximum compounds of the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP).
The bureau said that the 37 PDLs graduated last 15 April after undergoing the 2nd Alternative Learning System (ALS) for senior high school at the Cagbolo Senior High School.
The graduation ceremony stood as “a meaningful testament to the reformation and rehabilitation efforts of Leyte Regional Prison, offering educational opportunities and hope for a brighter future for PDLs.”
“Their completion of academic requirements was certified by Lea A. Robin EdD (Doctor of Education), Public Schools District supervisor of Abuyog South District, and confirmed by Mariza S. Magan EdD, CESO (Career Executive Service Officer) V Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of Leyte underscoring the program’s adherence to national educational standards,” it said.
