Newsweek names MakatiMed to global ‘World’s Best Hospitals’ list

Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed) has been ranked among the top medical institutions in the Philippines in Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026, the hospital announced.
The regional list, compiled in partnership with data firm Statista, highlights leading healthcare institutions across 10 specialties, including cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and pulmonology.
MakatiMed ranked first in the country for endocrinology and gastroenterology, and placed within the top three for cardiac surgery, cardiology and pediatrics.
Dr. Saturnino P. Javier, the hospital’s interim co-president, CEO and medical director, said the recognition reflects the institution’s commitment to strengthening its multidisciplinary expertise and delivering specialized patient care.
Makati Medical Center was also one of only two hospitals in the Philippines included in the global top 250 list of the World’s Best Hospitals for 2026.
