Former Senator and senatorial candidate Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan took a brief respite from his busy campaign schedule to visit the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, where he sought divine guidance and protection.
During the visit, Pangilinan was prayed over by Rev. Fr. Yohann, OMV, and had his vehicle blessed.
"As we enter the final five weeks of the campaign and our travels intensify, we need more than ever the guidance and protection of our Lord," Pangilinan said in Filipino.
He also expressed gratitude for the divine protection he received after a recent incident. "We thank God for His protection when we experienced a near-miss while traveling through Quezon," he added, referring to the emergency landing of the helicopter he was aboard en route to Tiaong, which made three emergency landings due to bad weather conditions.
Pangilinan began his campaign week by attending the Antipolo City government’s monthly flag-raising ceremony, where he was warmly received by Mayor Jun Ynares and local government employees.
Following the ceremony, Pangilinan visited the nearby Pasalubong Center, where he interacted with local vendors and customers in a meet-and-greet session. He also purchased local delicacies, including kasuy and suman, as pasalubong (souvenirs) for his wife, Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
