A Quezon City Police District (QCPD) captain who was berated in a recent viral video filed a cyber-libel complaint Thursday against a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) official and the blogger who posted the incident online.
Police Capt. Eric Felipe, assigned to QCPD Station 9 (Anonas), filed the complaint with the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
The complaint stems from a video showing Felipe taking his motorcycle, which was parked on a sidewalk in front of the police station, while MMDA Special Operations Group Strike Force head Gabriel Go berated him.
Meanwhile, Go on Thursday publicly apologized for the incident. He made the apology in front of National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) commissioner Rafael Vicente Calinisan.
“I am asking for forgiveness for what happened. It was not my intention for that to occur,” Go said, offering his apology to Felipe and to Calinisan, who oversees the national police.
The incident gained widespread attention after Go’s frequent blogger companion, known as “Da Da Ko,” posted the video to his social media accounts.
