A recent Stratbase-Social Weather Stations survey revealed that most Filipinos believe women in politics are more effective than men in governance and are more likely to advocate for key social issues.

Conducted from 15 to 20 March, the survey found that 51 percent of Filipinos believe women govern better than men, while 22 percent disagreed and 26 percent remained undecided.

Additionally, 74 percent of respondents agreed that women in politics are more likely to address essential social concerns, such as education and healthcare. This includes 42 percent who strongly agreed and 32 percent who somewhat agreed, while only 12 percent disagreed and 14 percent were undecided.

Despite these positive perceptions, the survey also highlighted the challenges women face in entering politics. Fifty-five percent of respondents believe it is difficult for women to run for office unless they come from a political family, while 25 percent disagreed, and 19 percent were undecided.

The survey, conducted in celebration of National Women’s Month, aimed to gauge public opinion on women's participation in politics and governance. Its findings were published on Sunday, 30 March 2025.

Stratbase-SWS conducted face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters nationwide, covering 300 respondents from Metro Manila, 900 from Balance Luzon, 300 from Visayas, and 300 from Mindanao.
