A two-seater Cessna aircraft crashed in Lingayen, Pangasinan, on the morning of Sunday, 30 March, prompting an urgent response from emergency teams and local authorities.

According to eyewitness reports, the aircraft had two occupants when it went down. Rescue teams rushed them to Lingayen District Hospital, but both were declared dead on arrival.

The Lingayen Police confirmed that they received a report from an airport security guard regarding the crash. The aircraft, identified as a Cessna, went down in Barangay Libsong East, Lingayen, while conducting a touch-and-go training exercise.

A touch-and-go maneuver involves landing and immediately taking off again without coming to a full stop. This is a standard training procedure for pilots to refine their landing and takeoff skills. Authorities are now investigating whether mechanical failure, human error, or weather conditions played a role in the crash.

The victims were identified as a 32-year-old pilot and a 25-year-old student pilot. Their names are being withheld until their families are officially notified.

This is a developing story.
