EV charging goes mobile

If you drive an EV and hate the long lines at charging stations — or just don’t have one nearby — ACMobility’s new Power-on-Wheels (POW) service might be what you’ve been waiting for.

Officially launched this March, POW is a mobile fast-charging service that brings power straight to your EV. Each POW unit carries a fast DC charger (up to 120kWh) and supports most battery EVs and some plug-in hybrids using a CCS2 plug.

Power-on-Wheels makes adopting the EV lifestyle easier by offering a convenient, mobile charging solution that complements ACMobility’s growing network of EV charging stations. This service brings charging directly to customers where and when they need it, making EV charging more accessible for people of various lifestyles,” Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility, said. “As we continue to expand our infrastructure, we are excited to play a pivotal role in supporting the shift toward transformative transportation and making EV ownership a seamless experience for everyone.”

The service is currently available in select areas in Makati, Mandaluyong and Taguig, with plans to expand across Metro Manila. It’s done in partnership with Singapore-based Power Up Tech, which brings experience from similar setups across Southeast Asia.

Booking is done via the Evro app, where users can pick a plan (Light Duty, Commuter, or High Miler), schedule a visit at least three hours in advance, and choose from optional add-ons like car care services.

Technicians will arrive at your location, verify your car via plate number, and charge it up to 80 percent — as long as your battery isn’t below 20 percent. Job photos are uploaded after each session via the ACMobility portal.

To celebrate, ACMobility is offering a P3,000 discount on the first month of any subscription plan through the POW3000 promo (valid until June 25 via the Evro app).
