Filinvest City’s beloved Carless Sundays are back and bigger than ever. Now in its 11th year, the program has expanded its vehicle-free routes, inviting more residents, visitors, and even pets to enjoy a morning of safe, open streets and community connection in the heart of the Metro South.
Every Sunday from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM, major roads in the Garden City are closed to vehicular traffic. The expanded route now includes Filinvest Avenue, Corporate Avenue, Commerce Avenue, Parkway Avenue, Promenade Street, ASEAN Drive, and Spectrum B and C, creating a loop around Central Park.
First launched in 2013, Carless Sundays originally spanned a limited section of the city. After years of adjustments due to COVID-19 and infrastructure developments, this year’s expansion marks a milestone as several key projects have been completed.
“Filinvest City has always been about creating a living, breathing city — one where people can thrive and truly connect with their surroundings,” said Don Ubaldo, Head of Filinvest Townships. “Carless Sundays is our way of giving back to the community, offering safe and open spaces where people can walk, run, bike, and simply enjoy the city. As we expand the routes this 2025, we invite everyone to take part in this movement and experience the Garden City of the Metro South in a whole new way.”
The weekly event has become more than just a fitness initiative. It’s a vibrant social experience. Locals and visitors enjoy Zumba sessions, biking, jogging, or simply relaxing at the IKEA Vibe Park or browsing books at the pop-up library, The Book Stop Project.
The initiative aligns with Filinvest City’s long-term commitment to sustainability. As one of the first developers to introduce car-free zones, Filinvest City has demonstrated foresight in prioritizing open spaces and eco-conscious development. Proof of this dedication is seen through the numerous accolades of Filinvest City, such as the LEED Gold Certification for Neighborhood Development from the U.S. Green Building Council and a 3-Star BERDE Rating from the Philippine Green Building Council. Filinvest City is the first and only CBD in the Philippines to achieve this distinction. Carless Sundays serves as a reminder that urban progress and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or someone just looking for a relaxing Sunday morning, Carless Sundays offers a welcoming space for everyone. So, lace up your sneakers, grab your bike, and head to Filinvest City this Sunday. The streets are yours to explore.
