Filinvest City celebrates Christmas, boosts local economy
Filinvest City, the 244-hectare mixed-use township in Alabang, has launched its 2025 Christmas campaign, transforming its open spaces into economic and social activity centers designed to attract visitors, support local businesses, and enhance community engagement in Metro South.
This year’s theme, “Celebrate Magical Christmas Moments,” highlights the city’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable urban design with community development. Filinvest City’s major parks and promenades have been converted into open-air venues featuring light installations, performances, and a weekend food bazaar — initiatives that are expected to drive foot traffic and stimulate local commerce throughout the holiday season.
At Central Park, visitors can see a giant Christmas tree surrounded by oversized snowflakes and botanical décor, while Creekside features lighted reindeer and crystal-shaped pines. Around the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, illuminated butterflies and flowers create a tranquil space for reflection.
“What’s special about Christmas in Filinvest City is how people naturally gather here,” said Don Ubaldo, Head of Filinvest Townships. “Our parks and open spaces become places where everyone can slow down, connect, and just enjoy being with the people they love.”
The holiday calendar includes the Magical Lights Spectacle, an immersive light and fireworks display beginning 22 November, and live OPM performances by SunKissed Lola on 29 November and Earl Agustin on 13 December at Central Park. These events are expected to draw significant visitor turnout, benefiting nearby establishments and retail tenants.
In addition, the Eats by the Park Food Bazaar operates Fridays to Sundays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring local and international cuisine from small and medium-sized food entrepreneurs. The initiative supports local vendors while offering visitors an accessible open-air dining experience.
Filinvest City, developed by Filinvest Alabang, Inc., a subsidiary of Filinvest Development Corporation, continues to emphasize sustainable urban planning, integrating green spaces with commercial, residential, and retail developments. The township’s open-space strategy has been credited with supporting local tourism and consumer activity during peak seasons such as Christmas.
