Fiber internet service provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has partnered with Starlink, the low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite internet service of Elon Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp., to offer satellite-powered connectivity solutions in more remote areas.

At a media briefing on Tuesday, Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy said the company has secured authorization to resell Starlink services, which aims to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband to underserved locations.

“We’re among the few in the Philippines authorized by Starlink to resell its services — an acknowledgment of our deep market expertise and commitment to meeting the evolving needs of both enterprise and government clients,” Uy said.

Transforming business operations

“More importantly, this is about transforming the way businesses operate. We’re bringing solutions that empower industries to scale and innovate, even in the most remote areas.”

Uy confirmed to reporters that Converge expects to sell $3 million to $4 million worth of Starlink kits as it expands its satellite service offerings.

As an authorized reseller, Converge will provide end-to-end solutions, including installation, network management, monitoring, and maintenance.

Serving industries

With Starlink’s high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity, Converge aims to serve industries such as construction, mining, agriculture, retail and hospitality, particularly in areas where fiber deployment is costly.

Sherie Ng, managing director of Converge Singapore, said the collaboration strengthens Converge’s position as a global business provider.

“Converge already has a formidable fiber network across the country. But we believe that by beefing up our satellite-powered connectivity solutions, we can charge full speed ahead in expanding our Global Business portfolio. This collaboration with Starlink is a key pillar to this aspiration,” she said.
