Belmont Hotel Manila recently opened its fifth Lobby Art exhibit, Hiraya: Crafted Visions, featuring the three-dimensional works of Josso Baldera. This exhibit marks a significant milestone in the hotel’s commitment to celebrating Filipino culture and supporting local artists.
The opening welcomed esteemed guests, including media representatives and valued clients. Belmont Hotel Manila’s director of Operations, Mayann Malapote, graced the occasion and cluster general manager, Socrates Alvaro, underscored the hotel’s dedication to fostering Filipino artistry and cultural appreciation.
Crafted Visions showcases Baldera’s intricate sculptures that explored themes of life, nature and the human experience. Through his masterful craftsmanship, he invites audiences to reflect on the beauty and complexity of the world, transforming raw materials into evocative narratives.
Baldera’s artistic journey began under the mentorship of the esteemed artist Angelito Cacnio, with whom he apprenticed for nearly a decade. This period of dedicated learning allowed him to refine his skills and develop a distinctive style. Today, his works are celebrated for their depth, storytelling and artistic significance.
His creations have earned a place in the book Alphabet of Filipino Contemporary Artists Volume 2 by Lander P. Blanza, further cementing his reputation in the art scene.
Art enthusiasts and collectors are invited to experience Baldera’s visionary sculptures at Belmont Hotel Manila, on display until 20 April 2025. All artworks are available for purchase. Explore his creations by visiting the exhibition or through this link: https://qrco.de/bfpVyT.
