Over 200 regional directors and representatives from nine national government agencies and partners participated in the Regional Directors Consultation Workshop (RDCW) organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) from 19-21 March at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Conference Center in Makati City.

With the theme “Pagtataya: 4S para sa 4Ps, Strengthening Synergy towards Sustained Self-Sufficiency,” the workshop focused on gaining participants’ commitment to the convergence efforts aimed at alleviating poverty for 2.4 million 4Ps beneficiaries set to graduate from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) by 2026.

In her opening remarks, DSWD Undersecretary Vilma Cabrera highlighted the importance of the workshop in building partnerships for a smooth transition of 4Ps households, emphasizing past successes in data bridging, targeted interventions, and stronger engagements with local government units (LGUs).

The three-day workshop included sessions aimed at developing a comprehensive program package for beneficiaries transitioning out of 4Ps, ensuring their access to employment, education, and livelihood opportunities.

The RDCW 2025 will operationalize regional convergence plans that provide concrete interventions and support services to exiting 4Ps beneficiaries.

In her closing remarks, Assistant Secretary Marites Maristela emphasized the need for updates, innovative strategies, and best practices. She also discussed how the regional convergence plans will incorporate tailored support and strengthened programs to ensure the relevance and accessibility of services for all 4Ps beneficiaries.

The workshop brought together regional directors and representatives from DSWD, Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology and Department of Health.

The RDCW aimed to consolidate regional accomplishments and ensure alignment with national objectives, fostering a cohesive approach to achieving the long-term goals of the 4Ps.
