The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a former barangay chairperson in Quezon province on rape charges.

The 44-year-old former barangay chairperson, a resident of Barangay Sampaloc 1, Dasmariñas, Cavite, was apprehended at the northbound Tabang Exit of the North Luzon Expressway tollgate at 2:05 p.m. last Tuesday.

A top three most wanted person in Quezon province, the accused was taken into custody by operatives of the District Police Intelligence and Operations Unit of the Manila Police District (MPD) in collaboration with the Unisan and San Miguel Municipal Police Stations and the Bulacan Provincial Police Office.

The arrest was made under a warrant issued by Judge Michael Vito of Gumaca Regional Trial Court Branch 172. The warrant cited two counts of statutory rape, and no bail was recommended.

It was the result of relentless intelligence gathering, continuous surveillance, and meticulous coordination between multiple police units.

After weeks of tracking and validation, authorities successfully pinpointed alias Bryan’s whereabouts, ensuring his swift capture.

The accused is currently detained at the MPD custodial facility pending the return of the warrant to the court and the issuance of a commitment order.
