The thrill of local motorsports is shifting into high gear as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) revs up for the 11th season of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup). Formerly known as the TGR Vios Cup, this premier racing series continues to bring high-octane action to Filipino racing fans — this time with a fresh race format and an all-new race class.

Mark Your Calendars: 2025 Race Weekends

The upcoming season kicks off earlier than usual, with three adrenaline-pumping race weekends lined up:

•Race Weekend 1: 22 March 2025

•Race Weekend 2: May 2025

•Race Weekend 3: August 2025

Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga, will host the season opener, setting the stage for intense wheel-to-wheel battles across the Novice, Sporting, and Super Sporting Classes. Expect fierce competition as drivers push their limits in both Sprint and Endurance Races.

Returning to the Novice Class this year are TMP president Masando Hashimoto, Reph Bangsil, and media racers John Rey San Diego and Pablo Salapantan. Joining them are Vios Cup Autocross alumna Arianne Bautista, sim racer Luis Moreno, and media racer Ian Magbanua.

Meanwhile, last year’s Novice Class Champion Russel Reyes and runner-up Jamil Lacuna are moving up to the Sporting Class, where they’ll go head-to-head with some of the best in the country. Also joining them is Kody Ng, returning from last season to complete the Team TGR Philippines roster.

This season also marks the debut of the Legacy Class, a special category for former Vios Cup racers and owners of third-generation Vios models. This new division welcomes back veteran drivers and even former Vios Cup champions, giving fans a nostalgic yet competitive spectacle.

With a larger prize pool and racers from all over the country gearing up for battle, this season promises to be more intense than ever.

This year, the excitement ramps up with the Club Race, a brand-new 5-lap circuit event featuring Toyota’s high-performance models: the GR Yaris, GR Supra, and GR 86. In previous seasons, car clubs could only take their machines for a spin during Track Day, but now, they’ll have the chance to race competitively, adding another layer of excitement for drivers and spectators alike.

For those who prefer a more relaxed track experience, Track Day remains open for car club members to enjoy a thrilling day behind the wheel.

Fans will also get a first-hand look at the new GR Yaris as it makes its racetrack debut, alongside a showcase of the GR Supra, GR 86, and other stunning car club collections.

Off-track, the event promises an exciting festival atmosphere with plenty of activities for fans to enjoy. The GR merchandise store will be stocked with shirts, caps, umbrellas, tumblers, and more, giving fans a chance to take home a piece of the action.

For those who love gaming, the TGR GT Cup experience will be a must-visit, offering e-racing fans the opportunity to test their virtual driving skills in a competitive setting. Adding to the spectacle, professional drivers will showcase their talents in thrilling drifting and gymkhana exhibitions, bringing high-speed excitement to the trackside experience.

Sponsor booths will also be present, handing out freebies and prizes to lucky attendees. To wrap up the adrenaline-fueled day, Filipino alternative rock band Hale will take the stage, performing their greatest hits for a night of music and celebration.

And the best part is: Admission is free!

For those who can’t make it to the track, Race Weekend 1 will be streamed live on the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube pages, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup is made possible by Official Fuel & Lubricants Partner Petron, Official Tire Partner GT Radial, and supporting sponsors Toyota Financial Services Philippines, myTOYOTA Wallet, Denso, AVT, 3M, ROTA, Tuason Racing, OMP, and Kinto One.
