The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed on Wednesday that the Office of the President has issued a travel authority to Vice President Sara Duterte.
"The Office of the President issued a travel authority to VP Sara as of last night 8PM," the PCO said in a statement.
In a briefing earlier, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said that there was no information yet relating to a travel authority issued for the Vice President.
The PCO clarified that it was not updated on the issuance of the travel authority as only a handful of people know the information.
"The information was initially disclosed only to limited people due to the unusual urgency and the confidentiality of the document," it further said.
VP Sara has followed his father former President Rodrigo Duterte to The Hague to help him.
