Veronica "Kitty" Duterte turned to social media to express her love and support for her father, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

This came after Philippine authorities arrested the 79-year-old Duterte on Tuesday upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, following the issuance of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

On Instagram, Kitty shared a throwback photo with her father, the ex-president, along with an emotional message.

"I will forever walk with pride knowing that I am your daughter, your blood. I am a Duterte. The strength you raised me with will go untamed," she wrote in her caption.

She also vowed to stand by her father, saying, "I will stand by the promise I made you today. I love you," she added.

Aside from her heartfelt message, Kitty also expressed her dismay over what she described as the "unlawful arrest" of her father.

"The plane they used to kidnap my dad just left minutes ago. If we don't hear from him by tomorrow, then we already know," she wrote on her Instagram story.

As of this writing, former President Rodrigo Duterte is on his way to The Hague, Netherlands, where he is expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon.
