As the country observes National Women’s Month this March, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has emerged as a powerful advocate for women’s empowerment and global recognition of Filipino talent and culture.
Through her unwavering dedication to the country and active role in promoting the Filipino identity, the First Lady serves as an inspiring figure for both women and men alike.
Mrs. Marcos recently attended the “Konsyerto Para sa Filipino,” a concert that showcased the richness of Filipino music and the artistry of local talents.
“To our kababayan across the world, you are always in our hearts. No matter where life takes you, you will always have a home with us... in our songs, in our films, and in the unwavering love that binds us as one Filipino family,” Mrs. Marcos said Monday in a social media post.
Her commitment to Filipino culture is also reflected in her support for the Manila International Film Festival, which took place recently in Los Angeles, California.
She expressed her gratitude to the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles, praising their efforts in bringing Filipino cinema to a global audience.
“No one knows how to celebrate like Pinoys — wherever we are in the world!” she remarked.
Mrs. Marcos took the opportunity of National Women’s Month to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of women leaders in the administration.
She particularly praised Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco and Trade Secretary Cristina Roque for their pivotal roles in advancing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision for the nation.
Reflecting on their work, she stated, “These women didn’t just keep up — they redefined the standard, proving that excellence has no limits.”
Her acknowledgment of the women underscores her broader advocacy for gender equality and women’s empowerment, key themes of International Women’s Month.
Mrs. Marcos’ recognition of Frasco, Roque and other women in leadership roles in the Cabinet exemplifies her dedication to supporting women who continue to break barriers and make significant strides in public service.
As the Philippines celebrates women’s achievements, the First Lady’s leadership and advocacy continue to inspire.
Through her active promotion of Filipino arts and culture, as well as her support for gender equality, the Mrs. Marcos exemplifies the strength and resilience of women everywhere.
As First Lady, she underscores the importance of empowering women to not only uplift their communities but also redefine leadership and excellence across all sectors.
