Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jay Ruiz confirmed on Monday that former Executive Secretary Oscar Orbos was tapped to be the new officer-in-charge of the People’s Television Network (PTV-4).
Orbos, who also serves as chairperson of PTV-4, will replace Antonio Baltazar “Toby” Nebrida Jr. as general manager.
Ruiz has yet to provide details on the appointment, as the PCO is still consulting its legal team regarding Orbos’ dual role. Orbos has expressed his preference to remain as PTV-4 chairman.
“We are just preparing the papers and reviewing the legalities of his appointment. He (Orbos) said he would rather stay on as chairman instead,” Ruiz told reporters.
Meanwhile, Ruiz said further changes in the PCO’s top leadership will take place within the next two to three weeks.
