The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported Monday that it has printed over 53 million ballots for the midterm elections.
Based on data shared to reporters, the Comelec has printed a total of 53,894,129 ballots, representing 76.58 percent of the 72 million requirement as of 3 March.
A total of 16,338,956 ballots remain to be printed.
The poll body resumed the printing of the official ballots on 27 January, weeks after it was suspended after the Supreme Court issued temporary restraining orders against the disqualification of some aspirants.
Previously, Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said the poll body is aiming to finish printing of ballots by 10 March.
The Comelec tapped the National Printing Office to help South Korean election firm Miru Systems comply with the 14 April deadline for ballot printing.
