The city government of Muntinlupa is proud to be among the 17 Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) that secured the Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) recognition for 2024. This marks the third consecutive year that all NCR LGUs have passed the GFH assessment, a testament to their commitment to transparency and accountability in local governance.
The DILG-NCR congratulated all 17 NCR LGUs for achieving the GFH certification, which evaluates compliance based on two key criteria:
An unmodified or qualified opinion in the Annual Audit Report (AAR) posted on the Commission on Audit (COA) website as of 27 September 2024.
Compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP), requiring the timely and complete posting of financial documents in three conspicuous places and on the FDP Portal from the second to fourth quarters of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.
Muntinlupa City Gender and Development (GAD) Executive Director Trina R. Biazon expressed her pride over the achievement in a Facebook post, using the hashtag #NAKAKAPROUD.
Meanwhile, Muntinlupa marked its 30th cityhood anniversary on 1 March with groundbreaking ceremonies, a medical and dental mission, and a thanksgiving Mass.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon, alongside Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, led the groundbreaking of two major health facilities in Barangay Alabang — the Mental Health & Palliative Care Center on Montillano Street and the Mega Health Center on Ilaya Street.
1 March is a special non-working holiday in Muntinlupa, as declared under Republic Act 9191, signed on 21 February 2003, designating the day as "Muntinlupa City Charter Day."
Alongside Muntinlupa, the other NCR LGUs that received the GFH recognition include Makati, Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Marikina, San Juan, Pasay, Taguig, Valenzuela, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Mandaluyong, and the municipality of Pateros.
