First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos graced the Goldenberg Mansion on Friday, leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Tapiserya, the third installment in the Goldenberg Mansion Art Series.

A known art enthusiast, the First Lady immersed herself in the exhibition, her admiration evident as she toured the space, taking in the intricate works of Joel Geolamen and Lynyrd Paras.

Presented as part of Art Fair Philippines’ 10 Days of Art, Tapiserya runs from 21 to 23 February 2025, transforming the historic Goldenberg Mansion into a celebration of Filipino creativity.

Speaking with DAILY TRIBUNE, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines expressed their gratitude to the First Lady, as a portion of the exhibition’s proceeds will support the needs of young scouts and their campsite.

Curated in partnership with Salcedo Private View, Tapiserya brings together two distinct yet intertwined artistic voices.

Geolamen, known for translating indigenous textiles into painted landscapes, pays homage to the Philippines’ weaving traditions. His works, previously exhibited at the Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art and housed in the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, celebrate Filipino craftsmanship in a contemporary form.

Paras, on the other hand, infuses his figurative expressionism with raw emotion, portraying the resilience and warmth of the Filipino spirit. His portraits encapsulate how Filipinos navigate hardships with optimism, proving that joy is not just an escape but a source of strength.
