Karla Estrada’s ex-boyfriend, Jam Ignacio, has apologized to his fiancée, vlogger and disc jockey Jellie Aw, following allegations of physical assault.

Aw recently accused Ignacio of assaulting her while they were on the expressway on 12 February. According to her, Ignacio pulled her hair while driving and allegedly punched her, causing a blood clot in her eye.

She also claimed that the alleged abuse left her with a chipped tooth and a bruised upper lip.

Following the incident, Aw turned to social media to share her experience.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News, Ignacio publicly apologized for his actions.

"Sa mga kapatid, sa mga kaibigan, dito ako haharap sa inyo. Humaharap na humihingi ng taos-pusong sorry. Sorry, sobrang sorry, lalo na sa mommy ni Jellie. Ma, sorry, ma. Alam niyo 'yan na mahal na mahal ko si Jellie," he said.

(To my brothers and sisters, to my friends, I come before you here. I come before you with a sincere apology. Sorry, so sorry, especially to Jellie's mommy. Mom, sorry, mom. You know that I love Jellie very much)

Ignacio explained that the alleged assault stemmed from a simple misunderstanding, exacerbated by exhaustion from their activities that day.

"Sa simpleng hindi pagkakaunawaan, siguro may halo na rin sigurong pagod sa maghapon na lakad namin. Kumbaga, tao lang din siguro ako, kumbaga baka napuno lang din siguro ako. Hindi ko sinasabi na tama, pero hindi ko para i-tolerate na gawin ulit. Humihingi ako ng tawad. Pasensya na talaga."

(With a simple misunderstanding, maybe there was also a mixture of tiredness from our day's walk. Well, maybe I'm only human, maybe I'm just full. I'm not saying it's right, but I won't tolerate it happening again. I apologize. I'm really sorry)

As he continued his statement, Ignacio assured Aw that such an incident would never happen again and expressed his desire to resolve the matter privately.

"Pinapangako ko sa 'yo na hindi na mauulit 'to. Sana bigyan mo ng pagkakataon na ayusin natin 'to pareho nang pribado, na sa ating dalawa. Alam ko naman na alam mo din na mahal natin ang isa't isa. Marami tayong gustong gawin at pangarap na sana maayos natin at matupad natin," he added.

Ignacio and Aw publicly announced their engagement in November 2024, just four months after they began dating.
